Requirement for Passport Collection

Token timings for passport collection: (Malé Only)

08:30 - 12:00

12:45 - 17:00

12:00 - 12:45 Queuebee service will be temporarily unavailable.

Applicants over 10 years old should take a token.
One passport will be issued per token.

Starting from 20th Dec 2023,ID card isnot required if thepassports owner is collecting the passport.

However, if the ownersprevious passport is still valid, it will be required. It is no longer mandatory to provide expired passports at the time of collection.

Issuing electronic passports

An electronic passport will only be issued to the owner.

Issuing non-electronic and emergency passports:

A non-electronic passport will only be issued to theowner if their age isabove 18 years and below 65 years old.
A non-electronic passport forchildren under the age of 18will be issued to theirParent orguardian. Parent or guardian must provide a validID card/ID photo, passportor licence cardfor collection.
Non-electronic & emergency passportscan be issued to athird party under the below mentioned circumstances:
- • When collecting for children under 10 years.
- • When collecting for elderly people over 65 years.
- • When collecting on behalf of a person because of a medical condition.
- • When the passport holder resides abroad.
A third party can only collect the passport with acollection letter. A draft of the letter is available at:https://imuga.mv/rexq22
For third-party collection, please bring a validID card/ID photo, passportorlicense card.

Note: If the passport holder or parent resides on an island and is unable to collect is for a legitimate reason, a third-party collection letter must be emailed via the council office topassports@immigration.gov.mv
